The President of India, Droupadi Murmu,is scheduled to attend the 20th annual Convocation of the Kashmir University on October 11, 2023, as the chief guest.
President Murmu will award degrees at the occasion to more than 53,000 applicants from a range of academic fields, according to the news agency. According to the plan, President Murmu will also give the Convocation address to the group of graduates and dignitaries at the University of Kashmir’s Hazratbal Convocation Complex in Srinagar.
The big event is planned to represent the end of the academic journey for students who have finished their coursework between 2021 and mid-2023. According to official statistics, 53,523 candidates will receive their degrees during this historic event.
46,812 of these graduates will gain undergraduate degrees, 5,509 graduate degrees, 572 doctoral degrees (Ph.D.), and 10 more applicants will receive master’s in philosophy (M.Phil) degrees. On this occasion, over 320 students—210 girls and 110 boys—will receive cash awards as well as gold and silver medals.
