According to officials, two troops suffered injuries during a clash between the military and terrorists in the Soom-Broh village’s forest, in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, the encounter began on Monday late at night after a search squad of forces made contact with the terrorists in response to information of suspicious movement in the region.
The villages of Broh and Soom are situated in the Rajouri district’s hinterland and are governed by the Kalakote police station there.
According to officials, there was a cordon set up in the area on Monday and searches started under the pretence of finding terrorists. The searches went on all day on Monday, and some gunshots that the military has dubbed “speculative firing” were also heard.
Meanwhile, authorities claimed that late on Monday night, terrorists in the forest opened fire on search teams of the troops, who replied by firing back, which resulted in an exchange of gunfire.
