Following information regarding suspicious movement, security forces began a search operation in the Kalakote woodland area in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, according to officials.
According to the officials, the Broh and Soom forest belt in the Kalakote area was closed off by the Army and police for the searches.
They claimed they heard a few shots during the cordon and search operation, but it was eventually made clear that the security officers had actually fired the bullets to check for any potential terrorists.
The operation, which was still going when the last reports were received, had no interaction with any suspected individuals, according to the officials.
