Sopore: In a shocking and unfortunate incident reported in north Kashmir’s Sopore, a government building is being used for drug addiction, raising serious concerns among the community.

A video accessed by News Agency Current News of India (CNI) showed how drug peddlers have utilized a government building in Sopore for illicit activities.

The video quickly went viral on social media platforms, with concerned citizens questioning the administration’s negligence and failure to fulfill their responsibilities. The fact that drug peddlers have been able to freely operate in a government building raises serious doubts about the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies.

Aashiq Hussain Zuki, a social activist, taking to News Agency Current News of India (CNI) expressed his disappointment and labeled it as a failure of the authorities responsible for ensuring the safety of the community. He emphasized the need for the authorities to address this issue promptly and take appropriate actions.

Javeed Bhat Industrial Estate President said that It is imperative for the concerned authorities to investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future, as the use of a government building for drug addiction is a clear violation of the law and a betrayal of public trust. He also appealed ADC Sopore to take strict action against the officer who is Incharge in the said office.

In response to the video, a senior police officer, while talking to News Agency Current News of India (CNI) acknowledging the seriousness of the situation, assured that efforts are being made to identify all those involved in this illegal activity.
