Sopore Police, in order to improve the mental and physical health of the youth of the Police District Sopore, organised a Mens T-20 Cricket Championship, which completed successfully on Thursday at Khushal Stadium Sopore area in Baramula district. 48 teams took part in the stated above Tournament.
Jhelum Sports Ningli defeated Sports Club Tarzoo by 51 runs in the tournament’s final game, which was played between the two teams.
DYSP DAR Sopore Shri Hilal Ahmad Hilal-JKPS, DDC Sangrama Advocate Irfan Hafiz Lone, and other guests presented cash awards and trophies to the finalists, winners, and runners up during the match ceremony.
Several hundred people watched the final; sports enthusiasts from the district police and surrounding areas also took part in the activity.
Additionally, a significant amount of students from other schools took part in the event.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, DYSP DAR Sopore urged all of the players and participants to actively participate in the police-organised programmes as it is a way to improve one’s personality and morale and is primarily a way to encourage and develop sportsmanship in the young, impressionable generation.
Sangrama DDC Irfan Hafeez alone also urged the young people in his speech to concentrate on sports and games, for which the Sopore Police will provide a platform. He also urged them to develop their personalities and play roles in creating a drug-free, crime-free, and prosperous Sopore.
