16-member J&K Ranji trophy squad announced

Srinagar: The five-member senior selection committee of J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) on Saturday announced the 16-member J&K Ranji trophy squad for the first two matches.

The list was announced by JKCA, Chief Executive Officer, Syed Ashiquie Bukhari following the recommendations made senior selection committee. The team comprises players who were expected to make the cut.

The team has been announced for the first two matches of J&K team in Ranji trophy tournament against Rajasthan and Goa respectively.

Parvez Rasool as expected has been given the role of captain while Irfan Pathan will again be playing the role of player-cum-mentor. The experienced wicketkeeper batsman, Obaid Haroon has made comeback into the squad while left handed stylish batsman Owais Shah has also found the place.

The selection was done by five member selection committee headed by former India test cricketer Rashid Patel of Baroda. The other members of the committee included Rizwan Shamshad and Ashish Zaidi, both from Uttar Pradesh and two members from Jammu province.
