Kishtwar : Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Khalil Poswal (JKPS) chaired a meeting at DPO Kishtwar to review ongoing cases and assess those under trial.
An official told news agency (CNI) Current News of Indiathat the SSP during the meeting emphasized revisiting directives from the Police Headquarters regarding UAPA case investigations.
The SSP, as per the official, urged efficient handling of UAPA cases, highlighting expedited, result-oriented investigations to dismantle the terror ecosystem.
“Instructing a more serious approach to investigations and the implementation of action plans, SSP called for effective, timely chargesheets and emphasized the importance of identifying and prosecuting all individuals involved in supporting terrorists, not just the perpetrators”, the official said.
“He directed stringent action against Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) and support networks, including the seizure of accused individuals’ property under the law and declaring absconding individuals as ‘proclaimed offenders.'”
“The police officer urged supervisory officers to analyze UAPA/NDPS cases, initiating investigations with sensitivity.”
“Emphasizing the need for a swift investigative process and improved conviction rates, he stressed the importance of foolproof investigations, considering all evidence and planning trials meticulously,” the official said, adding “Pairvi Cells have been established at various levels to support the investigation process, with officers directed to supervise them for enhanced conviction rates.”
“The meeting was attended by all supervisory officers, including Dy. SP Hqrs Dr. Ishan Gupta, SDPO Marwah Sh. Devindar Singh, Dy. SP PC Sh. Vishal Sharma, Dy. SP DAR Sh. Sajjad Khan, SDPO Atholi Sh. Praladh Sharma”, the official further said.(CNI) Current News of India
