Thieves Descend on Kulgam’s Village During Night, Loot Dozen of Houses

Srinagar : Thieves pull off one of the biggest hiests in south Kashmir Kulgam district’s Brinil Lammer village after making off with cash and other expensive items from around twelve houses last night, locals said on Friday.

They told News Agency Current News of India (CNI) that the thieves broke into one dozen houses in the Brinal Lammer village on an intervening night of December 14 and 15 and looted jewellery, cash and valuable things.

The thefts were conducted under a modus operandi in which a nearby ICICI Bank’s outside installed CCTV camera was disabled besides breaking the exterior bulbs of mosques, houses and other structures, locals said.

The persons, whose houses were looted in the death of night, are Bilal Ahmed Mir, Aashiq Hussain Khan, Manzoor Ahmad Khan, Hafizullah Mir, Bilal Ahmad Dar, Ghulam Jeelani Naik, Saidullah Khan etc.

It was also said thieves even tried to strangulate one of the persons to prevent him from awakening others while his house was being plundered.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered in the regard at Police Station Qazigund and further investigation has been taken up to nab the thieves.(CNI) Current News of India
