Two Rescued from Strong Currents of Basantar River in Samba by SDRF Team

Samba, In a swift and courageous operation, two individuals and a tractor trapped in the strong currents of the Basantar River in Samba district were successfully rescued by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Wednesday.

According to local reports, the victims had attempted to cross the river when they were caught in a sudden surge of water, leaving them stranded midstream. Upon receiving information, the SDRF team promptly launched a rescue operation, braving the powerful current to reach the individuals.

The operation concluded successfully with both persons and the tractor brought to safety. Jammu and Kashmir Police also reached the spot and assisted in managing the situation.

Authorities have advised the public to avoid venturing into rivers during the monsoon season, as water levels can rise unpredictably.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
