GeneralUpendraDwivedi, (CNI)#COAS, conferred the Veteran Achievers Award on four distinguished veterans Colonel Raj Kumar Kak (Retd), Captain DPN Singh (Retd), Subedar Major (Honorary Captain) KC Upadhyay (Retd) and Subedar Major (Honorary Captain) Anjani Kumar Sinha (Retd) at Prayagraj on 27 May 25.
Veterans in the country are at the forefront of #NationBuilding and social empowerment activities post their retirement from the uniformed services.
The veterans honoured at Prayagraj are involved in a wide variety of activities to include providing education and shelter to orphans and underprivileged girls, offering free legal aid to defence personnel and civilians, managing and sustaining old age homes, supporting marginalised communities like slum children and disabled persons as well as actively supporting veterans’ welfare and encouraging youth to serve in the armed forces.
These veterans embody the Army’s philosophy that service transcends active duty – it’s a lifelong commitment. Their efforts not only serve as a bridge between the #IndianArmy and the citizens of the nation but also propels them to achieve the national vision of #ViskitBharat.
This recognition underscores the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to honour those who exemplify selfless service, resilience and nation-building both during and after their military service.
