Baramulla, 05 May :The Uttar Pradesh police has arrested a College student Of Baramulla pursuing BCA and presently in second semester from Deedarpora Rafiabad of Baramulla district, in connection with the alleged rape and blackmailing of a teacher.
The victim, a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana, reported the incident to authorities on March 11, 2024.
The incident took place on May 8, 2022.
According to the complaint, a student was in at an institute in Baghpat in 2022 , purportedly gave the victim a cake laced with intoxicants, causing her to become semi-conscious. Taking advantage of her state, he allegedly raped her and recorded obscene videos and photos.
Subsequently, he allegedly blackmailed her, threatening to disseminate the compromising material online if she didn’t comply with his demands.
Following diligent investigation, authorities arrested the accused from his residence on Thursday.
He was brought to Baghpat on transit remand from Jammu and Kashmir and presented before the court. Subsequently, he was remanded to judicial custody.
Kotwali in-charge Rakesh Kumar Sharma stated that the police are actively pursuing the case, emphasizing the gravity of the charges against the accused.
