15th August Celebration: Security Tightened In Kashmir

Strict security arrangements have been made in the city of Srinagar, while additional personnel have also been deployed in other sensitive areas of the valley ahead of 15th August Celebration.

The process of frisking has also been started by stopping vehicles and auto-rickshaws at many places.

According to CNI, in connection with the Independence Day, on August 15, events are organized every year at the city of Srinagar and other towns and district headquarters of the valley, in which army, paramilitary, police and civil administration parades are organized and the flag is hoisted.

Strict security arrangements are being made to organize the events in a good manner and to maintain peace and order in the valley. Additional personnel are being deployed in different areas of Srinagar city, including Lalchok, while the police and forces personnel are already cordoned off around the historical clock tower of Lalchok and barricades and armored vehicles have been placed near the clock tower.

Meanwhile, additional troops and forces are being deployed in other sensitive areas of the valley, especially Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian districts of South Kashmir. The security forces are also being deployed on the roads leading to the district headquarters of Anantnag, while the Army, Police and other security agencies have been instructed to be alert in Sopore, which is considered to be the most sensitive area of Kashmir.

It has been learned from the sources that this year also the biggest event will be held in Srinagar, where LG Manoj Sinha will hoist the flag and take salute at the parade.

Apart from district police lines, district military headquarters, small ceremonies will also be held at forces camps, where the relevant officers will hoist the tricolor and take salute.(CNI)
