Srinagar, (CNI) Four people were killed and two critically injured after their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the Sindh River near Gagangeer Sonamarg area in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal, district on Sunday evening officials said.
Two others remain missing, and rescue efforts have been halted due to bad weather and nightfall.
According to News Agency Current News Of India (CNI) The accident occurred near Gagangeer, Sonamarg, as the vehicle carrying tourists was traveling from Sonamarg to Srinagar, while the vehicle lost control and plunged into the river.
They said’ four persons died at the spot, while two were critically injured and taken to SKIMS hospital in Srinagar.
Two more passengers are missing and the driver sustained minor injuries and received treatment at a nearby hospital.
The identities of the deceased are not yet known. The injured have been identified as Nima Pasang Sherpa from Nepal and Sameer Ahmad from Uttar Pradesh. The driver is Muhammad Saleem Mir from Nillah Najwan.
Rescue operations were called off due to darkness and bad weather conditions.(CNI)
