Baramulla, 04 Aug (CNI) :Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, police in Baramulla have booked 5 wanted and notorious drug smugglers under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
Acting tough against drug peddlers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Baramulla Police booked notorious drug smuggler namely Gulzar Ahmad Ganai S/o Lt. Habibullah Ganai R/o Chanihama Rafiabad Baramulla, Gh. Mohi u din Dar S/o Abdul Ahad R/o Ladoora Rafiabad Baramulla, Waheed Sultan Ganai @ Raj Don S/o Md. Sultan R/o Shirpora Pattan, Ajaz Ahmad Gojri @ Ajaz Mughal S/o Noor u din Gojri R/o Mallora Pattan & Atiqullah Lone S/o Mohd Akbar Lone R/o Tujjar Sharif Sopore under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.
The booked drug smugglers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu.
Pertinent to mention that many cases are registered against these drug Smugglers and were involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Rafiabad, Ladoora, Chakloo, Binner, Janbazpora, Shirpora Pattan, Malpora Pattan & other areas of District Baramulla.
Despite their involvement in many FIR’s they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
General public of Baramulla appreciated the role of Police for their action against drug peddlers. Baramulla Police consistent actions against the drug peddlers should reassure the community members that Baramulla police is making all efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.(CNI)
