Srinagar : Awami National Conference Senior Vice President Muzaffar Shah expressed strong criticism regarding the deferment of Home Minister Amit Shah’s planned visit to Jammu today.
Muzaffar Shah attributed the postponement not solely to adverse weather but suggested a deeper sentiment of discontent brewing among the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“I believe that the BJP’s declining popularity is evident in these deferred visits, including the recent postponement of BJP President J.P. Nadda’s visit,” he stated.
Advocating for decisive action, Shah urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to meet the families affected by the tragic incidents in Bafliaz/Dangri and underscored the urgency of providing swift justice to these grieving families as a top priority.
Furthermore, Shah highlighted the moral responsibility incumbent upon the Home Minister to address the growing discord between the Gujjar-Bakarwal and Pahari communities.
He criticized the deployment of divisive political tactics for electoral gains and expressed concerns about the resulting mistrust between these historically harmonious communities.
Regarding the power crisis, Muzaffar Shah called upon HM Amit Shah to facilitate the return of power projects rightfully belonging to the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
“The severe power shortages have significantly disrupted the lives of the region’s residents, necessitating a prompt and lasting resolution to this perpetual problem,” he said.
Shah also drew attention to the unmet promises made to the youth of J&K regarding government job opportunities.
“The disappointment and frustration prevailing among the youth who have awaited the fulfillment of the pledge for one lakh government jobs since 2018 remains unanswered, which the country’s Home Minister should answer and address,” he added.
Moreover, Shah stressed that the onus of restoring statehood to J&K lies on Union Home Minister, who promised the same in the Parliament.
“The commitments made on the parliamentary floor on August 5, 2019, by the Home Minister need to be fulfilled immediately and if there is further delay, the answer should be given to the people of J&K,” he said.(CNI) Current News of India
