Lone khalid cniAchabal, (cni): In view of increasing instances of human-wildlife

encounters in forest-adjacent areas of south Kashmir, the Wildlife Department has issued a public advisory for residents and travelers in the Bringi Valley Range, including Kokernag, Shangus, Dooru, Verinag, D.H. Pora, and Devsar.Speaking to current news of India (cni), a wildlife official stated that the growing risk of conflict is primarily due to improper waste disposal and

encroachment into forest zones, which are attracting wild animals such as bears and stray dogs closer to human settlements. To reduce potential threats and maintain safety, the department has outlined the following key precautionary measures:Do not discard food

waste or litter in open spaces or along roadsides, as it attracts wild animals to human areas.Clear tall grass and dense bushes near homes, farms, and walking trails that could serve as hiding spots for wild animals.Avoid going to cornfields frequently, as these animals mostly hide there.Limit movement during late evening hours, especially near forest boundaries.Avoid walking alone on forest trails, particularly at dawn or

dusk, when wildlife is more active.Refrain from visiting cornfields unnecessarily, as wild animals often use them for cover.Report any wildlife sightings immediately to authorities. Do not attempt to confront or harm the animal, which may lead to serious injury or even loss of life.In case of emergency or to report the sightings the public is advised to contact on these numbers Wildlife Office, Bringi Valley
