On behalf of the entire team of the Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), I make a heartfelt and urgent appeal to all members of our beloved Kashmiri Pandit community , especially youth, to awaken and come forward to save our heritage, our roots, our very existence. If we do not rise now, the consequences will be irreversible. The challenges before us are grave and demand immediate attention.

We must preserve and promote our mother tongue, the Kashmiri language, which we have inherited from our ancestors. Let us speak in Kashmiri at home, with our children, in family gatherings, and at community events. This is essential to keep our identity alive and to connect our future generations with the timeless treasures of our literature, poetry, and spiritual wisdom passed on by our saints and sages.

We must discourage and negate inter-caste marriages, as they dilute the essence of our centuries-old civilization and cultural ethos. These practices have adversely impacted our population growth and disrupted our community fabric. We are a 5000-year-old cultural entity, and it is our collective duty to keep this continuity unbroken. Let us protect and preserve the sanctity of our gene pool and ancestral lineage.

Enhance our community population should be our top priority as we are numerically shrinking, and our birth rate continues to decline while the death rate is on the rise. Let us adopt a minimum three-child norm to secure our future generations. Only then can we ensure that our community does not vanish from the pages of history.

Another worrying trend is the rising number of divorces within our community, which was almost unheard of before our displacement from the holy land of Kashmir. Broken homes have become common, destroying the peace and progress of families. We must reflect, restrain, and restore our family values with wisdom and compassion.

It is time to reintroduce and re-adopt the joint family system that once bound us with love, care, and mutual support. This will help us reunite our fragmented families and strengthen our blood ties. The isolation and frustration that many among us feel today can be significantly reduced by reviving this age-old system of togetherness.

Let us respect and care for our elders and parents who are living libraries of experience, knowledge, and love. Their presence blesses our homes, enriches our upbringing, and strengthens the moral and spiritual foundation of our lives. Their blessings and advice can shape destinies and build character.

We also need to focus on our health and lifestyle. Exile has brought with it stress, trauma, neuro-psychic disorders, diabetes, and numerous other ailments. It is now crucial to change our dietary habits and focus on physical and mental well-being to overcome the health crisis plaguing our community.

Above all, it is the need of the hour to rise as one voice for our consolidated and dignified rehabilitation at “one place “in the land of our origin Kashyap Bhoomi in the Kashmir Valley under the full protection of the Indian Constitution. We are today scattered, ignored, isolated, and underprivileged. So, “one-place ” settlement is the only way forward to preserve our collective strength, culture, and identity.

Let this be a final and sacred call to each and every member of our community. Let us come together with resolve and unity to protect our rights, reclaim our lost identity, and rebuild the future of our next generations. I assure you, as your humble Sevak, that KPC will remain steadfast in this mission to serve, safeguard, and uplift the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.

Together we shall rise. Together we shall reclaim. Together we shall restore our glorious legacy.

With devotion and determination,
