Anantnag: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the Menace of Drugs from the society, Anantnag Police arrested four Drug peddlers and recovered contrband substances from their possession.
Police party from Police Station Srigufwara during naka checking at Hospital crossing Srigufwara intercepted one motorcycle bearing registration number JK03H-8664 which was ridden by one person namely Ubaid Amin Bhat S/O Mohd Amin R/O Kanelwan Bijbehara. During searching Police party recovered 11 Codeine phosphate bottles from his possession.
As per the News Agency Current News of India (CNI) More over another Police party from Police Station Mattan laid down naka at Detho-Brah road, during Naka checking Police party stopped one Bike bearing registration number JK03G-3225 during searching police party recovered 02 Kgs of Poppy straw from the possession of Bike rider namely Aqib Bakshi S/O Showkat Bakshi R/O Sherkhan Mohalla Kehribal. In this regard a case FIR No. 96/2023 U/S 8/15 NDPS got registered in Police Station Mattan during course of investigation and on his disclosure we recovered 1.9 Kgs of Poppy straw from the possession of Mohd Ayoub Bhat S/O Gh Hassan Bhat R/o Deetho and recovered 110 grams charas, 01 KG of Cannabis powder & 10620 cash from the possession Fayaz Ahmad Lone S/O Mohd Abdullah Lone R/O Chohar shangus. All accused persons were arrested and contraband seized.
Drug dealings in Anantnag District have put our community at the risk of harm and eventual criminalization. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers are aimed to end this menace of drug addiction.
