Rajouri/Jammu, April 1: (CNI) Army troops were deployed at two different locations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district to observe the movement of Pakistani drones and suspects the shooting followed, authorities said Monday.

Officials said the drone movement was detected in a forward area of Sundarbani, where suspicious movement of some people, believed to be terrorists, was observed in Kerry sector between Sunday and Monday night.

They said that soon after the Pakistani quadcopter entered the Indian territory, troops fired at least four rounds to shoot it down, but as a result of the firing, it returned to the other side of the LoC.

After detecting the suspicious movement of some people trying to infiltrate across the border in Kerry sector, the troops fired a few rounds but they fled to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Officials said a massive search operation has been launched to ensure that the suspects did not shoot down any drones or leave any suspicious objects behind.

The operation was ongoing till the last information. (CNI)
