Army’s Skill Center in Border village of Gurez empowering youths to be self resilient

Bandipora : Indian army in collaboration with Healing Touch Foundation NGO is providing employment opportunities to more than 50 girls in border villages of Gurez in north kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Under the initiative aimed to make youths to be self resilient, the army had trained girls with different skills like Sozni, tailoring, packing detergents which now brings a positive change in the border valley.

Reports Reaching to News Agency (CNI) Current News of India that Around 50 girls from the villages of Tarbal,Dangan,Refugee Mohalla, Dasi ,and Bagtore are now packing detergents and other items and earning their livelihood.

“We are thankful to the Indian Army for providing us opportunities to come forward and learn different skills. Earlier we remained isolated in our homes during winters. Now we can earn some things as we have learned different skills here,” one of the local girls said.

This initiative is the first of its kind undertaken by the Indian Army in partnership with the Healing Touch Foundation, an NGO dedicated to improving the quality of life in the remote area of the valley.(CNI) Current News of India
