Mehbooba Mufti’s warning against growing dictatorship in the country
Srinagar :(CNI) National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti have strongly spoken out against the recent arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, expressing concern that he is a member of the ruling government.

Umar further expressed concerns that the BJP is taking advantage of Kejriwal’s situation to impose President’s rule in Delhi, thereby interfering with the democratic process.
He urged the Aam Aadmi Party to be vigilant and warned against misuse of constitutional provisions to subvert the will of the people. If the Aam Aadmi Party is adamant about keeping Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister from jail.

He also criticized the BJP’s alleged confidence of winning more than 400 seats in the upcoming elections, calling it a clear panic within the party. He suggested that Kejriwal’s arrest was a sign of this malaise and called it a stain on democracy.
Umar also highlighted past incidents of targeting opposition leaders, citing the detention of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti echoed similar sentiments and termed Kejriwal’s arrest as an act of political vendetta. He warned against the dangers of arbitrary arrests and expressed concerns about the ruling party’s intentions, warning that such measures could harm democratic values. Emphasizing the need for united resistance against tyranny, he said that history has proved that dictatorship cannot prevail despite collective opposition.
