Baramula Police Handed Over Old Sculpture of Goddess Lakshmi to Archaeology Department

Srinagar, 27 June (CNI: Baramulla Police on tuesday handed over old sculpture of goddess lakshmi to the department of archaeology, which was found in sheeri baramulla.

As per the statement issued here to News-agency Current News of India (CNI) reads that some days back locals of village Sheeri informed Police Component Baramulla that they have found some sculpture while digging the land. Police party of Police Component Baramulla rushed to the spot and took the possession of sculpture.

Today the team of Archives, Archaeology and Museums was called for examination of the recovered sculpture who reported at the District Police Headquarters Baramulla and after examining the sculpture thoroughly established that the recovered sculpture is of Goddess Lakshmi.

The sculpture was handed over to Registering Officer Antiquities, Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums Kashmir and his team by SP Hqrs Baramulla Ms. Divya D-IPS presence of Peerzada Aijaz Ahmad-JKPS DySP DAR DPL Baramulla through proper handing and taking over procedure, reads the statement.
