Baramulla, 13 June (CNI) : Baramula Police on Tuesday booked 3 Notorious Drug Smugglers of Pattan area under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.
As per the statement, Acting tough against drug peddlers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Baramulla Police booked notorious drug smuggler namely Gh Mohd Dar S/O Ab Rehman Dar resident of Mirgund Pattan, Manzoor Ahmad Dar S/O Assadullah Dar resident of Singhpora Pattan & Mohd Yaqoob Dar S/O Gh Rasool Dar of Renji Pattan under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.
The booked drug smugglers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu.
Pertinent to mention that many cases are registered against these drug Smugglers and were involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Mirgund, Singhpora, Pattan, Renji & other areas of District Baramulla. Despite their involvement in many FIR’s they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
General public of Baramulla appreciated the role of Police for their action against drug peddlers. Baramulla Polive consistent actions against the drug peddlers should reassure the community members that Baramulla police is making all efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.(CNI)
