Baramulla Police Freeze Properties of drug smugglers worth Rs 2.1 Crores during Current year

Baramulla, 28 Aug (CNI) : Acting tough against drug smugglers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Baramulla Police taking the war against drug peddlers to an altogether new level, freezed the properties of drug smugglers worth Rs 2.1 crore during the current year in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

As per the statement issued here to News-agency Current News of India (CNI), a police spokesperson said that baramulla police during the current year has freezed the Properties of drug smugglers worth Rs. 2.1 Crores, which includes 3 residential houses, 3 private vehicles value of properties 90.02 lacs & Cash worth Rs. 1.2 Crore of drug smugglers in Pattan, Kreeri, Kamalkote Uri, Nambla Uri Baramulla under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act 1985.

The freezing of properties is a very stringent provision of NDPS Act, and it empowers the police to take action against those drug peddlers who Baramulla Police Freeze Properties of drug smugglers worth Rs 2.1 Crores during Current year acquired movable/immovable properties by doing drug business.

This financial action by Baramulla Police has caused great damage to the financial aspect of drug business and will help in discouraging others from getting into drug peddling.(CNI)
