Baramulla Police Observe 9th International Yoga Day

Baramulla, 21 June (CNI) : Baramulla Police on Wednesday observed 9th International Yoga Day with the theme ‘One Earth, One Family, and One Future’ at District Police Lines Baramulla in which SSP Baramulla Sh Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, SP Hqrs Baramulla Ms. Divya D-IPS, DySP DAR DPL Baramulla Sh. Peerzada Aijaz Ahmad-JKPS & other officers/ officials of District Police Baramulla also participated in the event.

The idea behind the observance of the day is to raise awareness among the police personnel with benefits of yoga. The aim to practice yoga is to unite, symbolize the union of body and consciousness.

Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that has its roots in India. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness around the world, regarding the many benefits of practicing the art. The day is being celebrated since 21 June 2015.

The theme for International Yoga Day 2023 is ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ effectively encapsulating our collective aspiration for ‘One Earth, One Family, and One Future.

According to the United Nations, The United Nations designated 21 June as the International Day of Yoga by resolution 69/131 on 11 December 2014 to recognize yoga’s widespread appeal.

The aim of Yoga is to join or to unite, it symbolizes the union of body and consciousness. The theme highlights that yoga is a powerful tool to deal with stress of uncertainty and isolation and helps maintaining physical well-being.(CNI)
