Batwara residents Protest over Water Scarcity
Srinagar, 04 Sep (CNI): Residents of Batwara area of Srinagar district Protest against Jal Shakti Department for not providing safe Drinking Water to their area.
A group of protesters told News-agency Current News of India (CNI) that Jal shakti department failed to provide safe drinking water to us from last two months, our area is neglected, we are facing many hardships these days and the authorities are not paying attention to our genuine grievance.
According to reports reaching to news agency-Current News Of India-CNI, The locals of batwara area said that the Jalshakti department has failed to solve the drinking water problem of the area from years ,we the residents are reeling under acute water shortage for last two month and today we came out on roads .
Sources told that the Protestors were chanting slogans against Jalshakti department and said that we brought the matter into the notice of concerned authorities many times but nothing has been done so far.
The residents were demanding the immediate restoration of the water service to ease their sufferings.
Meanwhile a concerned police team reached to the spot and assured the protesters that their problem will be taken up with concerned authorities,with that the protesters called off the protest. (CNI)
