Poonch/Jammu: (CNI) Two suspects have been detained in connection with an explosion near a hospital in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said on Wednesday.
Late on Tuesday night, an improvised explosive device exploded in a street adjacent to a religious place near the district hospital in Poonch town, causing panic among the locals.
“We have received a report of a suspected small explosion-like sound from an area near Poonch Hospital. Necessary investigation into the matter has been initiated to ascertain the exact nature of the explosion,” a police spokesperson said.
They said that the explosion was apparently caused by hand-made raw materials.
Officials said that two suspects have been detained for questioning in connection with the blast. (CNI)
