Ishfaq gulzar cniNew Delhi (CNI NEWS): In a major relief for Central Government employees, the Centre has extended the special Leave Travel Concession (LTC) facility for visiting Jammu & Kashmir by another two years.
The extension, ordered by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), will enable eligible employees to avail the special travel concession for visits to Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, the North-Eastern Region and Andaman & Nicobar Islands until September 25, 2028.Under the scheme, eligible employees can convert one Home Town LTC into an LTC for visiting the covered regions, subject to the
prescribed rules and conditions.The decision is expected to provide greater travel opportunities to government employees and further facilitate tourism and connectivity to Jammu & Kashmir and other designated regions.The Centre’s move assumes significance for Jammu & Kashmir, where increased tourist and visitor movement has been a key focus of efforts to boost the region’s economy and strengthen its integration with the rest of the country.
