Srinagar : Chief Secretary Sh. Atal Dulloo chaired a meeting of the Culture Department to review the promotion, preservation, and protection of cultural heritage in Jammu and Kashmir.
Key officials, including the Principal Secretary of Culture and the Executive Director of Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society, participated. He emphasized the importance of protecting historical monuments and completing the digitization of archival material for accessibility.
He urged the timely completion of restoration projects, particularly the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, and called for better utilization of cultural spaces like Kala Kendra, Jammu, and Tagore Hall, Srinagar.
Additionally, a cultural awards scheme and the LG Rolling Cultural Trophy portal are in the works. Progress on the restoration of 35 heritage sites under Phase-I and the proposal for 126 sites under Phase-II were also reviewed.
