Cloudburst Caused Widespread Devastation In Himachal Pradesh Village

Five members of a family are reported to be missing after a large-scale devastation caused by a cloudburst in Sarmuri Tal village of Pawnta Sahib in Sirmor district of Himachal Pradesh.

According to CNI, this morning the house of a person named Kuldeep Singh has been destroyed by cloudburst and five members of the family are reported missing.

Three houses were hit by the cloudburst. While the flow of water in Giri River has also increased. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team reached the spot on Thursday morning but the relief and rescue operation could not be started.

More than six JCB machines were deployed overnight to restore the highway, but the highway could not be restored.

Police said that since the incident, Kuldeep Singh (62), Jeetu Devi (55), Rajni Devi (31), Nitish (10), Deepika (8) are missing. People from the entire area have been shifted to safe places overnight.

According to reports, local youth and police personnel have started a search operation.

Tehsildar Rishabh Sharma said that there has been a large-scale destruction in the area, adding, the search operation in the area is going on.(CNI)
