A Srinagar court has granted bail to the Gujrati conman Kiranbhai Patel, who was arrested in Srinagar in March.
According to CNI, the court of Judicial Magistrate Srinagar granted bail to Kiran Bhai Patel, a citizen from Gujarat.
The court directed Patel’s counsel to furnish a surety bond of Rs 1 lakh with two sureties. The accused was represented by Muhammad Abdullah Pandit, Adil Pandit, Anil Raina and Abu Owais Pandit.
Notably, Patel was arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on March 3 for allegedly impersonating as an Additional Director for Strategy and Campaigns in the Prime Minister’s Office.
Officials said Patel received facilities usually given to officials of the Prime Minister’s Office, including a bulletproof car, security personnel and official accommodation in a five-star hotel during his visits to Jammu and Kashmir.(CNI)
