Srinagar,: (CNI) Defunct Drainage system causes water logging near Vishal Mart Munawara Abad area in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district exposes smart city project.
Locals expressed displeasure against the Authorities. A group of people alleged government for failing proper drainage system in the area.
While speaking to News Agency Current News Of India CNI people said that the tall claims of the government fall flat when they say that huge amounts are being spent or have been spent on various developmental works and so called smart city. But on ground situation is altogether different as the people are suffering due to want of good roads and drainage system and submerging expose Smart City.
Water logging has compounded many problems and people including women and school going children can’t step outside of their residential area,”
They further added that recent rainfall causes water logging in the area due to which they are suffering as there is no proper drainage system in the area, adding we “badly suffer even if there is slight rainfall and the whole area wears a flooded look and till date authorities not take any sufficient step regarding in this issue.”
Now the residents appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha and SMC Srinagar to intervene and resolve their grievances as early as possible so that they will not have to suffer.-(CNI)
