As the rainy season approaches, dengue mosquitoes start to flourish, in this season the risk of diseases like malaria, dengue, chikungunya increases. Along with viral infection and bacterial, the complaint of mosquito-borne patients increases. Every year due to dengue there is a rush of patients in the hospitals. Dengue is a dangerous disease, the condition of which can be serious if the early symptoms are not recognized. This disease can happen to people of any age. But the effect of dengue is seen rapidly in children. In view of the increase in the cases of dengue and the seriousness of this disease, every year people are made aware against dengue. How dangerous can dengue disease be? It can be easily inferred from the fact that due to lack of timely treatment, a person suffering from dengue can also die. Last year, the figures of death of patients suffering from dengue in different states of the country confirm this. Every year during the monsoon and its departure, the dominance of dengue and mosquito borne diseases is very common. In view of the frequent cases of dengue, there is a need to be very careful about the prevention of dengue. Because till now no vaccine has been made for it. That’s why preventive measures against dengue are most important. National Dengue Day is celebrated every year by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 16 May with the aim of creating awareness about dengue among the people.

  1. What are the preventive measures against dengue fever?
  • Do not allow water to accumulate in and around the house.
  • Do not allow water to accumulate in the open in any vessel.
  • Keep the vessel empty or keep it upside down.
  • If you store water in a vessel, drum, bucket, keep it covered.
  • If you always store water in something, then first it should be washed thoroughly with soap and water so that mosquito eggs can be removed.
  • Spray insecticide in the house.
  • If the cooler is not working, take out the water and dry it.
  • Do not allow water to accumulate in any open space such as potholes, potholes or garbage, if water accumulates, put soil in it.
  • Keep nets in the windows and doors, close the doors before evening.
