Vibrant Cultural Program Commemorates India’s 75 Years of Independence in Srinagar

Srinagar, 11 Aug (CNI): To mark the nation’s glorious 75 years of Independence, the Cultural Unit Kashmir of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) J&K orchestrated a captivating Cultural Program at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) in Khanyar, Srinagar.

The event came alive with a mesmerizing performance of the short play ‘Ae Watan Tujhe Salaam’ by artists from the Shahkaar Cultural Society. Students further contributed to the patriotic ambiance by delivering rousing speeches on patriotism and presenting soul-stirring patriotic songs.

Cultural Officer Kashmir, Burhan Hussain, highlighted the significance of celebrating this proud moment in the nation’s history. He emphasized how Independence Day serves as a unifying force, instilling pride, patriotism, and unity among citizens.

Principal of GHSS Khanyar, Wahida Sheikh, shared her perspective on the occasion, noting that such theme-based patriotic programs greatly contribute to fostering a festive atmosphere that nurtures unity among the youth and bolsters the nation’s integrity.

The Cultural Coordinator, Seema Naaz, and Activity Coordinator, Dr. Mateen Yousuf, echoed their appreciation for the Cultural Unit Kashmir, DIPR, for their role in spreading peace, brotherhood, and a sense of patriotism among the youth.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the faculty of GBHSS Khanyar, Information department officials, and a large number of students.

The program concluded with the presentation of awards and certificates of participation to students, the Principal, and the coordinators of GHSS Khanyar as tokens of honor.

Furthermore, the Cultural Unit Kashmir extended its celebratory reach by conducting Nukkad Nataks (street plays) and Cultural programs in Kupwara and Anantnag. Artists from Justice Visual Arts and Yadgaar Cultural Society, along with students, showcased Cultural performances centered around the themes ‘Shaan Tirange ki’ and ‘Ekta ka Sukh,’ respectively.

This remarkable endeavor forms a part of Cultural Unit Kashmir’s ongoing commitment to present a series of patriotic Cultural programs throughout the valley in honor of the Independence Day 2023 celebrations.(CNI)
