Dr. Jitendra Singh Assures Immediate Relief and Memorials for Families of Martyr Policemen

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh today visited the families of martyr policemen Shri Jaswant Singh and Shri Balwinder Singh, who laid down their lives in the line of duty during the Kathua encounter. Expressing his heartfelt condolences, Dr. Singh assured the families of comprehensive and immediate support from the government.

As part of the immediate relief, the following measures have been announced:
✅ Government jobs for the spouses of both martyrs under SRO provisions.
✅ Financial aid and relief from different Central and UT sources, together amounting in total to around ₹70 lakh per family.
✅ Construction of two memorial gates in honor of each of the the martyrs from the MP fund.

In addition to these immediate measures, a proposal will be moved to rename government schools after the martyrs as a lasting tribute to their sacrifice.

In the light of the sudden incident leading to martyrdom of two young bravehearts from his parliamentary constituency, Dr. Jitendra Singh who was in far away Odisha, rescheduled his pre-scheduled program before going to Majalta, district Udhampur, where he will lay the foundation stone of the new bridge in Majalta. This project aims to enhance connectivity and improve infrastructure in the region, reflecting the government’s commitment to development and public welfare.

Dr. Jitendra Singh reiterated the nation’s deep gratitude to its security personnel and assured that the government remains steadfast in supporting the families of those who protect the country.
