Parvaiz wani cni Srinagar, CNI NEWS: Renowned socio-cultural activist Dr. Tariq Ahmad Shera was honoured with the prestigious “Icons of Kashmir Season 2026” award for his remarkable contributions to the fields of social work, art and culture at a special award ceremony held at Akashvani Srinagar. The award ceremony was organised by the Incentive Foster Foundation and was attended by eminent personalities from different walks of life. Dr. Tariq Ahmad Shera is the President and Founder of Angel’s Cultural Academy and Shahr-e-Khaas Literary & Cultural Welfare Society.
Through these organisations, he has been actively working for the promotion of art, culture, literature and languages in Jammu and Kashmir. Shera has organised more than 100 cultural and literary events to provide a platform to emerging and talented artists, writers and young achievers. He has also been actively conducting awareness programmes on important social issues, particularly environmental protection and drug abuse prevention. Despite being young, Dr. Shera has already received more than 20 national and international awards and accolades for his contributions to social and cultural activities. His sustained efforts have established him as a prominent socio-cultural activist and public figure of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shera said that his mission is to promote and encourage the multi-talented youth of Jammu and Kashmir by providing them with platforms through his two organisations. He further expressed his determination to contribute towards building a drug-free Kashmir and creating greater social awareness among the younger generation. Expressing gratitude for the honour, Dr. Shera said, “I dedicate this award to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who have always supported, encouraged and loved me.
This recognition will motivate me to continue working for the promotion of our art, culture, languages and the welfare of our youth.” The honour was hailed as a recognition of Dr. Shera’s continued efforts towards strengthening the cultural, literary and social landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
