Baramulla Police on thursday arrested a drug smuggler alongwith 65 grams of contraband Charas during naka checking at Salamabad Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police under the supervision of Sh Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by Inspr Mohd Shafi SHO PS Uri arrested Drug smuggler namely Israr Ahmad Mughal S/O Nisar Ahmad resident of Salamabad Uri during naka checking at Salamabad Uri who was coming on motorcycle (without registration number) towards Uri and after noticing the police party tried to flee away but was apprehended tactfully and was taken into custody immediately.
During his search 65 grams of contraband Charas like substance was recovered and was taken into custody immediately. The motorcycle was also seized on spot.
Case under NDPS Act registered in Police Station Uri and investigations set in motion.
General People of the area hailed the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship.(CNI)
