Elections are being held peacefully in Jammu and Kashmir: PK Pole

Srinagar,:(CNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Electoral Officer Pandurang K Pol said on Thursday that the elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are going on peacefully.

 

Speaking to the media during a visit to the historic Lal Chowk area of Srinagar, Pole said that the upcoming elections in Kashmir are going on smoothly like in other parts of the country.

 

He said that voting for Srinagar parliamentary constituency will be held on May 13 and for Baramulla parliamentary constituency on May 20.

 

The poll hoped for a good voter turnout this time, and urged people to exercise their democratic right and duty to vote for the candidate of their choice. He emphasized that voting is not only a right but also a responsibility.

 

The Chief Electoral Officer assured that the Election Department is ensuring a smooth and peaceful election process across Jammu and Kashmir.(CNI)
