Baramulla, 06 June (CNI) : Baramulla Police on monday arrested four drug smugglers alongwith 170 grams of contraband Charas, 70 grams of Cannabis Powder & 5 Kgs of Poppy Straw at Dangerpora Sheeri and Nehalpora Pattan during naka checking.
As per the statement, Police under the supervision of Sajjad Bukhari-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by Inspr Waseem Jahangir, SHO PS Sheeri arrested Drug smugglers namely Shafeeq Ahmad Naikoo S/O Gh Rasool, Yasir Ahmad Lone S/O Fayaz Ahmad & Fayaz Ahmad Wani S/O Ab Jabar all residents of Dangerpora Sheeri during naka checking at Dangerpora Market, who were coming on a Motorcycle bearing registration number DL9SB-5432 from Dangerpora towards Mallora and upon seeing the naka party they tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully.
During their personal search 170 grams of contraband Charas like substance were recovered from them and were taken into custody immediately. Scooty was also seized on spot.
At Nehalpora Pattan:
Police under the supervision of Mohd Nawaz-JKPS, SDPO Pattan assisted by Inspr Sarjan Ahmad, SHO PS Pattan arrested Drug smuggler namely Bilal Ahmad Shah S/O Gh Nabi Shah R/O Kalsari Pattan during naka checking at Nehalpora Cheksari Pattan, who was coming from Checksari towards Pattan and upon seeing the naka party he tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.
During his personal search 70 grams of contraband Cannabis Powder & 5 Kgs of Poppy Straw like substances was recovered from him and was taken into custody immediately.
Cases under NDPS Act registered in Police Station Sheeri & Pattan and investigations set in motion.
General People of the area hailed the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship. (CNI)
