Four Gamblers held with 7,500 Stake money in Sopore

Acting tough against social crimes, Police in Baramulla arrested four gamblers and seized Rs 7,500 stake money from the at Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

As per the statement issued here to News-agency Current News of, a police spokesperson said that Acting upon an information through reliable sources that the presence of gamblers at Dharnambal Nursery near Byepass Sofi Akbar road, Police Party of Police Station Tarzoo rushed towards the spot and on noticing the police party gamblers tried to flee from the spot but the alert police party chased them and were apprehended tactfully.

The arrested gamblers were identified as Nazir Ahmad Dar S/O Muhammad Rajab Dar R/O Ningli Sopore, Muhammad Shafi Gojree S/O Abdul Razaq Gojree R/O Shair Colony C, Arif Ahmad Dar S/O Ghulam Muhammad Dar R/O Shair Colony B and Muhammad Maqbool Sheikh S/O Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh.

A set of playing cards containing 52 cards, alongwith stake money of ₹ 7500/- were recovered from them.

Case FIR No. 70 under relevant sections of Gambling Act registered in Police Station Tarzoo and investigation taken up.
