Four Kurdish militants killed in Turkish drone attack in Iraq

CNI International Desk September, 18 , 2023 Baghdad: The Counter-Terrorism Service of the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region announced in a statement that a senior PKK member and three terrorists were killed in a Turkish drone strike in northern Iraq.
They were killed about 3 p.m. local time on Sunday when a Turkish drone hit their car on a road in the Chalmir region of the Sinjar mountain, about 120 km to the west of Mosul, the provincial capital of Nineveh.

The PKK’s primary base is in the Qandil mountains, where Turkish soldiers often conduct ground operations, airstrikes, and artillery bombardments, according to the Xinhua news agency.

The PKK, a group that Turkey, the United States, and the European Union have designated as terrorist, has engaged in uprising against the Turkish government for more than three decades.
