GDC Reasi Organises “Nasha Mukt Yuva and Bharat” Programme

Reasi, CNI NEWS: Government Degree College (GDC) Reasi organised a programme on “Nasha Mukt Yuva and Bharat” in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris Ashram, Reasi, with the aim of sensitising youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a healthy, responsible and spiritually empowered lifestyle.

The programme focused on the theme “For a Drug-Free, Strong and Spiritual India” and featured a series of meaningful activities, including awareness speeches, meditation, a pledge for a Nasha Mukt Yuva and Bharat, and a session on spiritual power. The activities highlighted the importance of self-discipline, positive thinking, inner peace, emotional strength and value-based living in preventing substance abuse among young people.

Prof. Mamta Gupta, Worthy Principal, GDC Reasi, graced the occasion with her presence and encouraged the participants to contribute towards creating a drug-free society. Her presence underscored the institution’s commitment to youth wellbeing and the prevention of substance abuse.

Prof. Palwinder Kumari and Dr Omar Habib were the Incharges of the programme and coordinated the event. Prof. Irfan Arif hosted the programme and conducted the proceedings.

The programme was attended by Prof. Kewal Krishan, Dr Mehak Tufchi, Prof. Pooja Dheman, Dr Surita Sharma, Dr Gayas, Mr Rakesh Kumar, Dr Radhika Rasiyal and Dr Riffat Malik, along with members of the college community.

The speakers emphasised that combating substance abuse requires more than awareness; it calls for strong family and community support, positive peer relationships, healthy coping mechanisms and the development of inner resilience among youth. The meditation and spiritual empowerment components provided participants with practical approaches to cultivating mental peace, clarity and self-control.

The programme concluded with a collective commitment to promote a drug-free youth and a healthy, peaceful and prosperous Bharat. The initiative reaffirmed GDC Reasi’s continued efforts towards creating awareness about substance abuse and empowering young people to make healthy and responsible choices. CNI NEWS
