Jammu : The Mahashivratri festival is observed as Herath by Kashmiri Pandits and it celebrates the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Uma.
Herath festival 2024 begins on the first day of Phalgun Krishna Paksha (February 25, 2024) and ends on the Amavasi day in Phalgun (March 10,2024.
In between there are numerous auspicious days like Hur Ashtami ( March 4, 2024. The main rituals of Herath festival begins in 2024 on February 25,2024. Wager Bah ( March 7,2024 ). The important pujas are held on the Shivratri day (Shiv Chaturdashi) ( Marh 8,2024 ). The pujas culminate on the Amavasi day which is known as Doonya Amavasya ( March 10, 2024 )
As community Sevak I would like to request our community youngesters who are away from their parents due to services, postings or due to other reasons, kindly try to join your parents on this day of Maha Shivaratri Puja falls on March 8,2024 to get blessings of lord Shiva and Uma, specially from your mother and father,who are above God and celebrate the Mahashivratri festival together as was our community past practice.
