Poonch, 30 Aug (CNI) : The customs, rituals and festivals plays a major role in establishing connect with the AWAM. The population in remote villages along line of control lives in perfect harmony and actively participate in functions and festivals of each other.
The Indian Army has also become a part of many such festivals,towards this Indian Army celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan at Lower Krishna Ghati, Dara Dullian village & Fatehpur village of Poonch district.
As mark of solidarity with Army men, women from nearby villages of Poonch district came all the way and tied Rakhis to Jawans. This initiative was taken by them despite of known threat of terror related incidents by enemy. Women & girls prayed for the safety of their brother soldiers who are safeguarding their villages and nation. During informal interaction with Army persons, the girls expressed their desire to tie Rakhis every year on this auspicious day.
The event was attended by girl students and women from nearby villages, elected civil representatives and locals. The local people from nearby hamlets were also invited to witness this event. The bonhomie between Army and AWAM will be strengthened further with this event.(CNI)
