The Jammu and Kashmir Congress will launch a 10–15 day march starting March 24 to press for the restoration of J&K’s statehood, party president Tariq Hameed Karra announced on Saturday.
Clarifying that the initiative is not a protest, Karra stated, “This march is a reaffirmation of our demand for statehood. It will serve as a reminder to the Government of India, the Prime Minister, and the Home Minister that Jammu and Kashmir deserves to regain its rightful status.”
The Congress, in alliance with the National Conference, has consistently pushed for the restoration of statehood, emphasizing its significance for better governance and safeguarding democratic rights in the region.
