Tahir bhat cniJammu, CNI NEWS: A delegation of students representing different categories and sections today called on Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) Jammu Province President Manjit Singh at the party headquarters at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, and apprised him of a range of issues confronting the student community across Jammu and Kashmir.The delegation was led by JKAP student leader Tableen Singh, who, along with other student representatives, highlighted issues concerning school students, college and university students, professional-course students, competitive-examination aspirants, students from socially and economically disadvantaged sections, research scholars and those pursuing technical and vocational
education.The students drew attention to several pressing concerns, including scholarship delays, admission and counselling-related difficulties, examination and result delays, shortage of adequate educational infrastructure, hostel and transport facilities, poor digital connectivity in remote and hilly areas, high coaching and education expenses, limited internship and placement opportunities, and employment-related uncertainty after completion of studies.The representatives also raised issues specific to professional and technical students, including the need for better practical training, modern laboratories, industry exposure,
internships and campus placements. Concerns of students pursuing medical and dental courses, particularly regarding stipend-related matters, internship conditions and training facilities, were also brought to the notice of the JKAP leadership.Students from remote and hilly areas highlighted difficulties arising from inadequate transport, weak internet and mobile connectivity, shortage of specialised teachers and limited access to quality coaching and higher educational facilities. Representatives of disadvantaged categories also stressed the need for timely scholarships, adequate hostel accommodation, accessible educational infrastructure and greater support for pursuing professional and higher education.Students preparing for competitive examinations and government jobs sought a more predictable recruitment and examination system, timely conduct of examinations, declaration of results and greater transparency in recruitment processes.
Technical, ITI and vocational students emphasised the need for stronger industry linkages, apprenticeships, skill-oriented training and assured placement opportunities.Manjit Singh gave the students a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine concerns would be taken up at appropriate forums. He said that students constitute an important segment of society and that their educational and career-related concerns cannot be ignored.Manjit Singh said that JKAP President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari is well versed with the issues confronting students and has consistently highlighted matters concerning education, employment, youth opportunities and student welfare on various public platforms.
He assured the delegation that the Apni Party would stand with the student community and continue to raise their genuine demands until appropriate attention and resolution are ensured.He stressed that education should not merely end with obtaining a degree but must equip young people with the skills, opportunities and confidence required to build a secure future. He said that issues relating to scholarships, affordable education, infrastructure, digital connectivity, internships, skill development and employment require sustained attention from the concerned authorities.
The JKAP Jammu Province President also emphasised the importance of listening directly to students and understanding their difficulties at the grassroots level, particularly those coming from remote, rural and economically weaker backgrounds.The student representatives expressed gratitude to Manjit Singh for giving them a patient hearing and assured that they would continue to remain engaged with the party leadership in taking up issues affecting the wider student community.
