Jammu, cni: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta today welcomed the commencement of the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra, slated to begin on July 2, with the first batch of pilgrims being flagged off from the Jammu base camp.
Speaking at the meeting held at Party Headquarters here today, the BJP stalwart expressed immense joy and pride over the beginning of the sacred pilgrimage and said that the yatra holds a special spiritual significance for crores of devotees across the nation and abroad. “The Shri Amarnath Yatra is not just a spiritual journey but also a symbol of India’s cultural ethos and centuries-old faith. Jammu and Kashmir takes immense pride in hosting the devotees who undertake this journey with unflinching devotion,” he said.
Lauding the arrangements being made by the administration, security agencies, and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), Kavinder Gupta emphasized that every stakeholder must work in close coordination to ensure the safety, comfort, and smooth movement of yatris throughout the pilgrimage period.
The senior BJP leader also appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to extend their traditional hospitality and full support to the yatris, as has been the hallmark of the region’s communal harmony and brotherhood. “People of J&K have always played a key role in making the yatra a success. Their cooperation and service are vital in upholding the sanctity and glory of this spiritual journey,” he added.
