Srinagar, 16 April (CNI): Congress Party National President Mallikarjan Kharge Hailing the contributions of Dr B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, Kharge said it was because of the architect of the Constitution that Dalits and women got voting rights.

As per the monitoring desk of Current News of India (CNI) Kharge, While addressing a huge Congress public gathering ‘Jai Bharat Satyagraha Sabha’ at Mancherial in Telangana Friday night, Launching a scathing attack on the BJP, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi government of weakening the public sector and wanted to know from PM Modi where were the 18 crore jobs that he had promised.

He went on to say that selling government industries did not create jobs. Prime Minister Modi promises two crore employment every year. Where have the eighteen crore jobs gone in the last nine years? Thirty lakh vacancies exist in the country. Modi is a dictator in the country.

A huge Congress public meeting ‘Jai Bharat Satyagraha Sabha’ was held in Mancherial to mark Dr B R Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on Friday, while addressing the gathering Kharge Hailing the contributions of Dr B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, said it was because of the architect of the Constitution that Dalits and women got voting rights. He criticized that many people today are forgetting Ambedkar and are doing their work in the name of SC, Some build statues of Ambedkar which are 15-ft tall, some build 20-ft tall statues while some build 125-ft tall statues, but nobody works for the poor.

“Dr. BR Ambedkar drafted the constitution and gave direction to the government,” he added. Everyone, whether Dalits or rich, was given the right to vote. He lamented the fact that many people had forgotten about Ambedkar. Everyone is erecting various-sized idols, but no one is talking about what is being done to help the poor.”

He even argued that without Ambedkar’s involvement in the democratic process, SCs and women would have lost the right to vote.

He also targeted the BRS government in Telangana, accusing it of not fulfilling its promises, including providing three acres of land to Dalits.

“Congress has allocated funds based on population. Jawaharlal Nehru and Vallabhbhai Patel led the independence movement in India. Modi would not be Prime Minister if we had accomplished nothing in the last 70 years”, said the AICC President.(CNI)
