Honourable Lt.Governor sir,
Namaskar,
I write to your goodself with a heavy heart and deep concern regarding the alarming situation faced by displaced Kashmiri Pandits residing in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It has come to our attention that for the past six months, the authorities have inexplicably halted the supply of essential rations including rice, atta, and sugar to migrant pensioners and government employees who are among the most vulnerable groups within our community.
Sir, this abrupt suspension of ration supplies has plunged these families into dire straits, especially affecting low-paid pensioners who struggle to manage their monthly budgets amidst rising market prices. Similarly sir, Kashmiri migrant relief holders have also been left without rations for several months, compounding their difficulties as they lack adequate resources to afford market-rate purchases.
Sir, the decision to withhold these essential supplies is not only unjust but also inhumane, given the constitutional duty of the government to ensure the welfare and basic needs of its citizens, particularly those in disadvantaged circumstances. We understand the administration’s rationale of digitizing records and other reasons; however, the implementation of such measures cannot come at the cost of depriving vulnerable populations of their right to food security.
Sir, it is imperative that immediate steps are taken to rectify this situation. We urge the government to prioritize the digitization process on an urgent basis, deploying additional manpower if necessary, to swiftly resume the distribution of rations to all affected Kashmiri Pandits and relief holders, pensioners and Government employees. Delays in action could exacerbate their plight, potentially leading to severe consequences such as starvation, which would reflect poorly on the administration’s commitment to social justice and humanitarian values.
Sir, the Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) representative organization of these displaced Kashmiri Pandits and the entire community anxiously await your prompt intervention and resolution of this critical issue. We trust in your leadership and appeal for your personal attention to ensure that no member of our community may not suffer more and are not compelled to resort to desperate measures due to governmental neglect.
Thank you sir, for your immediate attention to this matter. We look forward to a swift and positive response that will alleviate the suffering of our fellow citizens, who are victim of displacement and neglect. Immediate
Your,s Sincerely
