Man arrested in Baramulla for demanding money to carry out illegal extraction/transportation of Sand: Police

Baramulla Police on thursday arrested an extortionist arrested for demanding money for regulatory authorities in order to carry out illegal extraction/ transportation of Sand in Chakloo Baramulla.

In a Press release issued here to News-agency Current News of India, a police spokesperson said that One person namely Muneer Ahmad Bala S/O Gh Mohammad Bala R/O Stadium Colony Baramulla approached PS Baramulla along with a written application stating therein that one person namely Nadeem Ahmad Mir S/O Nazir Ahmad Mir R/O Janbazpora Baramulla has approached him to pay protection money for regulatory authorities in order to facilitate illegal evacuation/ transportation of Sand in Chakloo Baramulla and has deceitfully recieved some money from the complainant and was demanding more money for carrying out illegal extraction of minerals in the area.

To this effect case FIR No. 134/2023 u/s 420 IPC was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation set into motion.

Accordingly, Baramulla Police led by Inspr Vilayat Hussain SHO PS Baramulla swung into action and arrested accused and was taken into custody immediately in the instant case.
